The kiosk (or periptero) is a Greek institution
found in all towns and most villages. Sougia's kiosk is open
all day but closes relatively early in the evening (around 9.00).
Apart from selling cigarettes, sweets, phone cards, cold drinks
and ice-cream you can also buy newspapers (in Greek though) and
most things that you didn't know you needed ...until you needed
them.

Sougia's kiosk is located right on the sea front
and its owner Giorgos speaks English. If you don't see him inside,
don't worry, he is probably enjoying a chat in a nearby café
whilst keeping an eye on the kiosk and will be over as soon as
he has finished his sentence.
